There was discussion regarding elections. Pam Stowe, who was running for a Board position, declined the nomination. Therefore, Tammy Hawkey stepped down as nominee for Vice-President to take the open Board position.

Jean Hedger reported on the AHA Resolutions from convention.
Officers and Board Members were assigned the responsibility of taking charge of meeting dates/places throughout 2009. These dates are tentative.

There was much discussion on the ineffectiveness of the Arabian Newspaper and the possibility of returning to the Corral. Terry Tatman will call the Corral to negotiate a price per member.
Sherri Lewis brought up the possibility of a High Point Mini Circuit that could include the Summer Sizzler, SAHIBA, Medallion, Hoosier Horse Classic, and the Indiana Cloverdale shows. She will contact other clubs to see if there is any interest.
The club will have a booth at the Troy Strawberry Festival again in 2009 and we are looking for volunteers to work. Please contact Krista Bowman if you can help out.
The 2009 Community Show was discussed and we will not have the show if there are not enough volunteers. Please contact Sherri Lewis if you can help.
The Preble County Tack Sale is Sunday, March 1st. The Lebanon Tack Sale is 2 weeks after that.
Linda Laufer reported that effective 1/1/09 all 4-H exhibitors must wear a helmet for all riding events.
OVAHA is sponsoring children attending the Mary Haven River of Hope which is a Christen based ranch. Funds are provided from the 2008 Community Show.
Louise Michels gave the Treasurers report. Motion from Larry Kinneer to accept. Second from Tammy Hawkey. Motion passed.
Terry Tatman suggested we drop the Community Show to do a Fun Show where all breeds are welcome.
There will be a Summer Sizzler committee meeting on Sunday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Springfield fairgrounds. We will also be holding the January Board meeting immediately following the committee meeting. This is also the day for the Reg 14 meeting which starts at 1:00. |
